Background of the Brand/Fabric/Style/Era:
Stuart Weitzman began his design career within his family’s shoe company before establishing his globally recognised luxury brand in 1986. Footwear labelled “Stuart Weitzman for Capricio” originates from his late 1970s to early 1980s period, produced in Spain in small batches using quality materials. These early creations — including the Stuart Weitzman Victorian revival boots — illustrate the craftsmanship and experimentation that later defined the brand’s international success.

The silhouette draws from 1890s–1910s Victorian button boots, reinterpreted in the 1970s and early 1980s for their romantic, theatrical appeal. Their mix of a sculpted Louis heel, ribbed stretch upper and pointed leather foot makes them highly desirable among collectors of early Weitzman designs and vintage footwear enthusiasts.
